BACHELOR IN COMPUTER APPLICATION [BCA-(H)]

Information technology is the fastest growing revenue earner in India. The degree course in Computer Application develops the theoretical and practical ability of a student to work in IT.

COURSE CONTENT

Some of the subjects which are taught in BCA(H) course are Digital electronics, Business systems & applications, Visual basic, PC software, Computer architecture and System software, Information system analysis and design, Programming with C, Mathematics, English language & communication, Data structure with C and C++, Multimedia, Internet and E-commerce, database managements system, Object oriented programming with C++, Software project management and quality assurance, Data communication and computer networks, UNIX and Shell programming, Window programming, Object oriented programming with JAVA, Human-computer interaction, Advanced UNIX etc.

FUTURE PROSPECT

On successful completion of the course one will be equipped with the necessary qualification, knowledge and skill to enter directly into a career in IT industry. He/she even is able to pursue higher education at the Master Degree Level or any other higher qualification in India or abroad. Alternatively he/she is equipped to start their own business in any field within the broad spectrum of IT or its related areas.

COURSE DURATION

WBUT’s Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Application (H) is a three year full time course. The course is divided into six semesters with a range of specialization as elective subjects in the final semester. There is also sufficient emphasis on field projects for building practical experience.

ELIGIBILITY

Any student who has passed 10+2 (General/Vocational) examination with English/Functional English(in CBSE) and Mathematics/Statistics/Computer application/Business mathematics and Statistics/Business economics including business Mathematics/Modern computer application/Information practice(with pass marks) are eligible for admission.
