BACHELOR IN HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT [BHM-(H)]

Health care is one of the fastest growing industries in the country, particularly in eastern India. The size of the health care in the industry in India is expected to increase significantly with 33.8 billion dollars to be spent by the country by 2012 with direct and indirect employment opportunity for 8 million people.

The course prepares you for the overall management of a hospital, to ensure its smooth functioning through maintenance of all infrastructure and equipment as well as coordination of various departments.

The hospital administrator’s function is to ensure highest quality care at lowest cost, with the objective of ensuring patient satisfaction.

Some of the subjects which are taught in the course are Health Care Planning, Hospital Administration, Organization and management, Personnel Management, Concept of Epidemiology (Public Health Administration), Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology, Financial Management, Inventory Control, Behavioural Science, Health Management, Information System, Hospital Policies and Practices, National Health Plans, Information Technology in Health Sevices, Hospital Operations, etc.

On successful completion of the course, one will be able to work as an administrator in Hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, public health centres or any other health care organization. One can also work for organization which does business with health care facilities such as Research and Development firms, pharmaceutical companies. The course is also an ideal launching pad for specialized higher studies leading to Masters and Doctoral degrees in the field, in India or abroad.

MAKAUT Bachelor degree in Hospital Management is a 3 years full time course.

Any student who has passed 10+2 (General/ Vocational) examination with English/ Functional English is Eligible for admission.
